RYAN

How long have you been riding?

I’ve been riding for about 13-14 years now, mostly dirt a little bit of street. Last few years have been a lot of street. I started riding when I was about 8 or 9, started out on an XR80 and it was just all dirt from then on till about 4 years ago. I went from that XR80 straight to a CRF450. It’s a massive jump, but I knew I wasn’t going to get another bike after that. I had ridden plenty of friends bikes and just figured I was ready for it, even though I was 12. You know what, the first time I officially went out on the road, I kicked it and fell over, I got caught between the bike and the trailer and I was like “hey guys, can you help me out here.” I had ridden it before, but that was how the first official ride started.

What do you currently ride?

I currently ride a 2015 Honda CVR 1000RR

What is your dream motorcycle?

Honestly probably the CVR is the bike of my dreams. It’s one of those things that I saw when I was young and I loved it, loved Honda, everything about it for some reason I’ve always loved it. I’ve ridden it and compared it to say a Jigster or a Ducati, just the feel of it, I mean it’s super smooth, handles corners great and I mean the power bands are pretty fun.

Describe the moment you were hooked on riding.

Oh I was hooked from 2 years old. What happened is my dad rode motorcycles and you know my mom and dad weren’t actually together so whenever my dad did come by, he was always on a motorcycle. He would come over and I remember when I was 2, it wasn’t the first time I was on a bike but one day, I had ridden it a couple times but I was just terrified this one day out of nowhere. I had no idea why but I didn’t want to touch it, I didn’t want to think about it, and right when he was going to leave he said “ok well I’m just gonna go then” and I was like “ok I’ll go on it” and from then on I’ve never been scared again. I was always into it after that.

I love riding and doing anything physical outdoors. Bikes, scooters, dirtbikes, unicycles, motorcycles, anything that has wheels is pretty cool. It doesn’t have to have a motor, just wheels. But a motor is definitely nice. Growing up in the desert, there wasn’t much else to do so anytime I could I was just always out. When I got my XR80 I remember everyday I’d ride the bus home and I’d jump off the bus, run home, grab my bike and I was gone for like 2 hours every day. It was cool, I did that so much. Out in the desert you just fine mountains to climb, anything on the road you just jump, it just is what it is. I remember the very first time I went to a dirtbike track and I was probably 12 and it was funny because I had my XR80 which is not a track bike at all and I’d just be 100% going as fast as I can trying to jump the stuff, the funniest thing was everyone else was on these 2 stroke, super light, quick bikes.
